The USAF Air University's Air Command and Staff College (ACSC) invites applications for a faculty position in the area of joint warfare studies. The primary purpose of the position is to provide expertise to support the design, development, and execution of the core curriculum courses (Joint Forces, Joint Planning, and Joint Air Operations) and electives focused on airpower; joint and combined warfighting strategies; National Planning Systems; operational art/design; organization, capabilities, and limitations of armed forces; and war termination.
ACSC, the Air Force's Intermediate Professional Military Education institution, prepares field grade officers of all services, International Officers, and mid-career Civil Service employees to assume positions of higher responsibility within the military and other government arenas. The focus of the position is on teaching, research, service, academic administration, and advising. Faculty members develop curriculum and teach within core curriculum courses and participate, as required, in exercises that support the school's course of study. Faculty members are also expected to teach elective courses, advise student research projects, and pursue active research, publication and service to ACSC, Air University, and the Air Force as directed by the dean, school commandant and the commander of Air University.
Qualifications are focused on military experience related to planning, strategy and doctrine, and the operational and strategic employment of airpower. Expertise in real world operational joint planning, cross-domain operations/operations design, including operational/strategic planning lead at the Combatant Command and/or component level is highly desired. An understanding of joint/multinational/interagency/ doctrine and planning procedures and familiarity with the integration and synchronization of planning across all levels of war with a focus on the operational level of war is important to success in the position. Knowledge and experience in the areas of airpower studies, space, information operations, and cyberspace strategies, policies, and theories is highly desired. Joint Staff Experience or Joint Specialty Officer Credentials and/or Military Exercise Design experience is desired. The position requires a broad knowledge of global environment, international political structures and strategy with particular emphasis on the historical context in which political, economic, social and military principles have evolved and which influence the formulation of national security and military strategy.The position is open to relevant academic disciplines but the focus of academic expertise is on military history, comparative military studies, information operations, space studies, and national security strategy and policy. Completion of appropriate levels of service and Joint professional military education is also a factor in assessing academic credentials. Commitment to interdisciplinary methods and ability to teach a wide range of introductory-advanced level courses in military studies is essential.
It is highly desired that successful candidates hold a relevant earned doctoral degree in military history, security studies, international studies, public policy or closely related field; and will have demonstrated superior teaching performance and the ability to develop and maintain curriculum; have guided research, and published in the areas noted.
Academic rank for the position is open but the focus is at the Assistant and Associate Professor level.

The position will be an initial three year appointment with a one-year probationary period, with the potential for continued reappointment for additional 3-5 year terms.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
