DRAFTThe Baker prepares a wide range of breads, pastries, and other baked goods. He or she produces quality, fresh baked items, meets all quotas, follows the company's recipes, and strictly maintains all safety and hygiene standards while working in the kitchen. The Baker must have excellent organization skills to multitask while baking.
Primary Objective of Position: To prepare baked goods in accordance with all Golden Corral specifications and company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
o Prepares a variety of baked goods with diverse methods of preparation, following specific product preparation and handling procedures and plate presentation standards
o Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures
o Prepares baked goods in accordance with all Golden Corral specifications and maintains a high quality and consistent product
o Maintains cleanliness throughout the kitchen by cleaning and sanitizing throughout the shift
o Keeps prepared food continuously flowing out of the kitchen
o Completes assigned pre-work to stock and set up stations as necessary
o Breaks down and cleans station or work area at end of shift
o Ensures proper rotation of all products and stocks product to par
o Performs shift change and/or opening or closing duties
o Assists other Team Members as needed or when business needs dictate
o Performs calmly and effectively under pressure
o Maintains a good working relationship with all Team Members to promote a cooperative working environment, which enhances Team Member morale, productivity, and efficiency
o Portrays a favorable image of Golden Corral at all times
Qualification Standards:
o Lifts and carries up to 70 pounds up to 20 times per shift; places these items on high shelves and in walk-in cooler and/or freezer
o Frequent bending and stooping
o Stands 100% of shift
o Works frequently in damp, hot work environment
o Works near an open flame
o Uses sharp knives and utensils
o May use slicers or other kitchen machinery
o Able to hold items with hands (knives, pans) for extended periods of time with up to 5 lbs of weight.
o Able to read ticketsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
